On your way to work, school drop-off, or the shops, you’ve probably noticed it: more people sleeping rough, more families asking for help, more signs of struggle across Perth. Homelessness isn’t a distant issue anymore—it’s right here in our neighborhoods.
The reasons are complex: rising rents, skyrocketing grocery and utility bills, and limited affordable housing, but the impact is painfully simple. Families, women, and even children are being left without a safe place to call home. And that’s something we can’t ignore.
Why Women Can Make a Difference?
Women between the ages of 30 and 50 often play a central role in households and communities. We make decisions for our families, influence our workplaces, and connect people through our networks. In a digital-first world, we also recognize the power of a single story, post, or campaign.
Imagine if the same energy we put into recommending a great café, sharing a product review, or posting a family milestone was channeled into supporting homelessness services. Our influence could be deeper and further than we think.
Where to Start?
Making an impact doesn’t have to mean huge sacrifices. Small actions add up, especially when they’re amplified online.
Donate today: Even $20 to The Spiers Centre can mean food, shelter, or safety for someone tonight.
Give what you have: Extra toiletries, clothing, or pantry items go a long way.
Volunteer your time or skills: A few hours a month—whether packing food hampers or helping with social media—makes a real difference.
Use your voice online: Share campaigns, post about your donations, and encourage your friends and colleagues to join in.
The more visible compassion becomes, the more people will feel empowered to act too.
Let’s Lead the Change!!
Here’s the truth: homelessness in Perth is increasing. But so is our ability to stop scrolling and start taking action! As women, we lead in families, workplaces, and communities every day. This is one more area where our leadership matters.
💜 So here’s the challenge: do one thing today—donate, volunteer, or share. Then tell someone else about it.
👉 If every woman reading this gave just one hour or one donation this week, Perth would feel the difference tomorrow.
We know the power of digital influence. Let’s use it for more than likes—let’s use it for lives.
