AfCAS Around The World

How Digital Marketing Can Help AfCAS Attract Volunteers and Support

Perth is one of Australia’s most multicultural cities. However, some older people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) backgrounds may experience social isolation due to language barriers, limited mobility or fewer social opportunities. AfCAS responds to this need by promoting culturally appropriate care and supporting CaLD seniors through services such as Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS). Although AfCAS provides valuable support, many people in Perth may not know that it exists or understand how they can get involved. Digital marketing can help AfCAS reach wider audiences and turn awareness into volunteering, donations or community support.

AfCAS Spread by Digital Marketing

Making AfCAS Easier to Discover

Search engine optimisation (SEO) can help AfCAS appear when people search online for terms such as “volunteer with seniors in Perth” or “support multicultural seniors.” AfCAS could include these keywords throughout its website and maintain an updated Google Business Profile containing its services, events, photographs and contact information. This would make it easier for local people to discover AfCAS through Google search and Maps.

Sharing AfCAS’s Stories Through Social Media

Social media can clearly communicate AfCAS’s purpose and show how its work through photographs, short videos and volunteer stories. Facebook and Instagram could help reach university students, working adults, families and retirees while LinkedIn could connect the organisation with aged care providers and potential business sponsors.

AfCAS could regularly introduce its volunteer on social media, share their experiences of supporting CaLD seniors and explain how regular visits can help seniors feel heard, valued and connected. In addition to sharing individual stories, AfCAS could promote events such as “Across the Table” to show volunteering in action. Images and videos of volunteers and CaLD seniors playing board games, enjoying tea and sharing conversations could help audiences understand what volunteering involves and create a welcoming impression of the experience.

Attracting Volunteers, Sponsors and Donors

Digital marketing should make it easy for interested people to become involved with AfCAS. Social media posts can encourage people to become a regular volunteer visitor, joining an event, making a donation or requesting more information. AfCAS could also work with universities to promote volunteering opportunities to students. LinkedIn and email marketing could be used to introduce sponsorship and employee volunteering opportunities to local businesses.

Fundraising posts should show audiences how their donations can make a difference. AfCAS could share a specific fundraising target, provide regular progress updates and give examples of programs or activities supported by previous donations. Providing this information may build public trust and encourage people to make a one-time donation or provide ongoing financial support.
