Everyone gets older someday, but this shouldn't cause anyone to lose connection with the culture, language or community.

For many multicultural seniors, respect and feeling of hearing matters highlighting a real difference to their wellbeing and sense of belonging. Thus, culturally appropriate support is important for wellbeing of senior citizens.

The Association of Culturally Appropriate Services (AfCAS) support for culturally and linguistically diverse older people across Western Australia making them feel valued, respected and heard. AfCAS

not only meet practical needs of senior citizens but also respects person's diverse culture, tradition, experiences, stories.

Why Cultural Understanding Matters

Being one of the largest countries and home for thousands of overseas people, Australia is one of the world's unique, culturally and linguistically diverse country. Every person have different believes and different understanding hence they experience ageing differently.

For an older person, being able to communicate comfortably, practise cultural traditions and feel understood can provide dignity, confidence and connection.

Sometimes even the smallest action is enough to make someone feel valued, included and respected. Listening to someone's story, sharing a conversation, a simple phone call from their closed ones, giving your time, greetings and simply being humble can make the huge difference.

Be Part of the Difference

You can be the part of this journey with your will.

You can donate fund to AfCAS, volunteer your time with senior citizens in AfCAS, share your skill, spread awareness, behave well with every older citizen you meet.

You do not need to make a huge contribution to create positive change, you can contribute with the capacity you behold.

Every penny worth happiness of senior citizens in AfCAS, neither any donation is too big or too small nor any sort of help is too big or too small. It reflects your kindness and care for senior citizens. A few moments of volunteering with people at AfCAS could play crucial role in creating meaningful connections, donation of any size could support important community initiatives. Beside, even sharing the AfCAS message with your colleagues, family or community can help increase awareness and reach wider community.

Every contribution matters because every contribution helps build a more respectful and inclusive community.

Together, we can make a difference and help create a future where multicultural seniors feel respected, connected and valued.
