An Interview with Rajesh Budhathoki

In Perth, Western Australia, Rajesh Budhathoki has built his business journey through hard work, persistence, and a willingness to take on new challenges.

His story is not simply about owning and managing businesses. It is about the years of effort behind that success — the long hours, difficult decisions, risks, lessons, and opportunities that shaped his path as an entrepreneur.

Today, Rajesh is involved in three diverse areas — Construction & Maintenance, NDIS & Human Services, and Retail — with his businesses collectively providing employment to around 210 people.

For Rajesh, however, those numbers tell only part of the story. His journey is ultimately about people, creating opportunities, and building businesses that can contribute to the wider Perth community.

A Conversation with Rajesh Budhathoki

Interviewer: Rajesh, before we talk about your businesses, take us back to the beginning. What has your journey been like?

Rajesh Budhathoki: It has been a journey of hard work and perseverance. Success didn't come overnight. There were many challenges, long days, difficult decisions, and times when I had to simply keep going.

I learned that if you want to build something meaningful, you have to be prepared to work hard, take responsibility, learn from your mistakes, and keep moving forward.

Every challenge taught me something, and every opportunity helped me grow.

Interviewer: Where has that journey brought you today?

Rajesh Budhathoki: Today, I’m involved in three different industries — Construction & Maintenance, NDIS & Human Services, and Retail.

I'm proud of what we have built, but I'm particularly proud that our businesses provide employment for around 210 people.

Interviewer: What does having 210 employees mean to you?

Rajesh Budhathoki: I don't see 210 employees as just a number. I see 210 people, 210 families, and 210 different stories.

If we can provide someone with a job, help them develop their skills, give them stability, and create an opportunity for them to build a better future, that means a lot to me.

That's one of the biggest reasons I enjoy being in business.

Interviewer: After everything you've achieved, what does success mean to you now?

Rajesh Budhathoki: I think my understanding of success has changed.

In the beginning, success was about building something from the ground up and creating a better future. Today, it's also about what we can create for other people.

For me, real success is building strong businesses, creating opportunities, developing people, and making a positive contribution to the community.

Interviewer: What keeps you motivated to continue?

Rajesh Budhathoki: I still have the same mindset — keep working, keep learning, and keep improving.

There is always another challenge and another opportunity. I want to continue growing the businesses, supporting our people, serving our customers, and contributing to the community.

I've come a long way, but I believe the journey is still just as important as the destination.
