Additionally, 92% of marketers consider video to be an important part of their marketing strategy, and 88% of marketers report that video provides a positive ROI.
Let’s talk about the ‘Reversible Octopus Plush Toy’
Sounds pretty ordinary -a stuffed toy. It’s reversible and has an angry and happy side. Despite the simplicity, you will get millions of results, showcasing people expressing their annoyance at their significant others using the toy, flipping it inside out to show the angry face. Also, it’s pretty darn cute - which never hurts.
Now, let’s explore the platform.
How did a plushie get so popular? Two words, Tik Tok. With over a billion active users worldwide, TikTok has become a powerhouse in the social media space. In fact, 62% of TikTok users are between the ages of 10 and 29, making it an ideal platform for reaching a broad range audience.
Witnessing other consumers reinforces our beliefs, monkey see, monkey do. Watching customer testimonials allows the audience to relate on a personal level and get reviews from fellow consumers, thus increasing consumption.
In conclusion, brands who want to stay competitive should capitalise on this trend and incorporate Tik Tok as their platform if their target audience fits into the app’s user demographics.
